Simpler Tuner
If you use Simpler a lot you will know the issue of dragging in tonal one-shot samples from Sample Packs but they are in different keys, and therefore you need to manually pitch the Simpler instance for each Sample.
This device smartly detects any pitch mention in the filename (E, d#, bMin, and so on) and automatically adjusts the Simpler Instances internal pitch to the nearest C so it plays in tune with the session.
This is designed to work fully automatically, so you only need to drop this device after your Simpler, and it directly works - no need to map or manually click anything.
Hope this helps your workflow as much as it does for me! :-)
This device requires Ableton Live Suite 12+ to function correctly.
More Background Info (if you want to dive deeper 🤓):
This device adjusts Simpler’s internal sample pitch without altering any other aspects of its output (it’s an audio effect but works subtly in the background). You might ask: Why make this an audio device instead of MIDI? The key reason is that it updates the sample pitch directly within Simpler’s internal engine rather than modifying incoming MIDI data. This means features like filter tracking (which rely on the original MIDI note info) stay perfectly aligned—something that wouldn’t happen if we simply transposed the MIDI pitch instead.
